Five Animal Qigong
The Five Animal Frolics Wu Qin Xi (五禽戏) – can be regarded as the earliest form of Medical Qigong in Chinese history, dating back to Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). These exercises imitates the actions of animals based on the habits of the tiger, deer, bear, monkey and bird. There are 2 movements per animal to practice and these movements help mental balance, improve physical movement by increasing qi flow through meridian channels in the body. Each animal relates to one of the five elements of Chinese Health and five yin and five yang internal organs.
